Snow Angel: Gifting a Life-Changing Experience!

Skiing or snowboarding is an incredible experience - one that not everyone gets the chance to try. That’s where the BSSA comes in.

The Bermuda Ski and Snowboard Association has launched Snow Angel, a unique bursary set up to fund a life-changing ski or snowboarding experience for the successful applicant(s). This is more than just a trip; it’s a chance to open the door to an experience never thought possible and expand someone's world.

As a community, we understand the joy of skiing, the beauty of the slopes, and the thrill of that first run. Let’s share that with someone who wouldn’t otherwise have the means. Every contribution, big or small, brings us closer to making it happen.

THE SNOW ANGEL BURSARY WILL FUND

Together, our generosity will cover: 

❄️ Round-trip flights
❄️ Accommodation
❄️ Airport transfers
❄️ Ski hire (boots, skis or snowboard, helmet)
❄️ Group ski lessons
❄️ Food and drink (within reason)

This isn’t just about funding a trip - it’s about welcoming someone into our world of skiing and expanding our community.

WHO CAN APPLY?

If you’ve always wanted to ski but never had the opportunity - and likely never will without this initiative - this could be your moment! 

To be considered, you must:
❄️ Be 21 or older
❄️ A Bermudian
❄️ Be eligible to travel (must pass relevant visa process)
❄️ Have a valid passport for travel between Bermuda and the bursary's annual chosen destination
❄️ Demonstrate financial need (applicants may be asked to provide a brief statement on their financial situation or supporting documentation to ensure fair and transparent selection) - this opportunity is for someone who otherwise wouldn’t have the means to go
❄️ Be willing to share accommodation with fellow club members of the same gender, if required.
❄️ Agree to feature on the Bermuda Snow social media pages.

The successful candidate will be announced at the Summer 2026 club social or no later than September 1, 2026. 

THE FINE PRINT

• All decisions are made by the BSSA Board and are final.

• The BSSA Board have the right to revoke (if the successful applicant is unable to meet the necessary requirements or if any information provided is found to be false or misleading).

• The BSSA and the Bermuda Snow Society takes no responsibility for unforeseen circumstances, including but not limited to travel disruptions, visa denials, or personal emergencies preventing participation.

• The BSSA and the Bermuda Snow Society taccepts no liability for any accidents, injuries, or losses incurred during the trip.

• The Snow Angel bursary is not redeemable for cash.  The Snow Angel bursary is not transferable to another person or extendable to other person(s). 

• The trip must be taken on the dates specified by the BSSA Board (Dates TBC), with the Bermuda Snow Society.

• The successful applicant must commit to participating in the full itinerary, including any group lessons and social media posts.

• If the successful application is unable to meet travel requirements, an alternate applicant will be chosen by the BSSA Board.

• The successful application must be comfortable and willing to stay in a shared apartment, with Society members.
